Gunmen Storm Ogun Hotel, Kill Guest
EKO HOT BLOG reports that In a statement released from Abeokuta, the state’s capital, Police Public Relations Officer Omolola Odutola revealed that Ebukwe was attacked while trying to flee from the assailants. Despite breaking into the hotel’s ceiling in a desperate bid to escape, he was pursued, shot dead, and his belongings were stolen.

The incident, which occurred around 3:30 p.m., was reported by Atobatele Igbosoro, the CDC Chairman of the area. Odutola stated that five armed men stormed the hotel, locked the mostly female staff in a separate room, and went directly to Ebukwe’s room.
Upon receiving the distress call, detectives led by the divisional police officer visited the crime scene. Although no arrests have been made, the victim’s body was taken to Jas Medical Mortuary in Ogijo.

Odutola added that investigations are ongoing to determine if the attack was cult-related. The case has been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for a more thorough investigation.
