Hamas, on Saturday, released two hostages to the Red Cross in the southern Gaza Strip, marking part of the ceasefire agreement with Israel.
The hostages, Yarden Bibas, 35, and French-Israeli Ofer Kalderon, 54, were abducted during the Hamas-led attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, which sparked the ongoing conflict.

In addition, another hostage, American-Israeli Keith Siegel, 65, was expected to be released on Saturday and handed over to the Red Cross in Gaza City.
The ceasefire, which began on January 19, is aimed at de-escalating the deadly and destructive war between Israel and Hamas.
It has been in place for nearly two weeks, reducing hostilities and allowing more humanitarian aid into Gaza.

As part of the truce, 33 Israeli hostages are expected to be freed in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
