In a significant move to address water challenges at the grassroots, the President of Bado-Isale Descendants Forum, Nosiru Olajide Onibon, has launched a Solar Energy Borehole Project aimed at providing clean and sustainable water to residents.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the project, which reportedly cost nearly one million naira to rehabilitate after years of abandonment, is designed to restore access to potable water using renewable energy, offering a lasting solution to the persistent water scarcity in the community.

Described as a people-centered initiative, the solar-powered borehole is expected to improve access to safe drinking water while promoting environmental sustainability and reducing dependence on irregular power supply.
Speaking at the commissioning, Professor Onibon reaffirmed his commitment to community development and improved living standards for residents of Bado-Isale.
“This project is a promise fulfilled. We are determined to ensure that our people have access to clean and sustainable water, and this is just the beginning of more impactful initiatives,” he said.
He assured residents that the impact of the project would be felt within a short time, emphasizing its importance to public health, hygiene, and overall well-being.
“This is not just about water; it is about improving lives, promoting good health, and giving our people hope for a better future,” he added.
The event attracted notable dignitaries and traditional leaders, including members of the Olu-Epe-in-Council such as High Chief Muyideen Shobaloju, High Chief Jamiu Adebayo Balogun, High Chief Adefolarin Iyanda, and High Chief Moninuola Tajudeen Agoro.
Also present were Giwa Omoyola Moore, Supervisory Councillor for Civic Engagement in Epe Local Government, Hon. Tukuru Ibrahim, as well as representatives of the Baale of Epe and other respected community stakeholders.
The initiative has been widely commended as a practical intervention that reflects responsive leadership and a strong commitment to sustainable development at the community level.
