President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State and the killing of Brigadier General Musa Uba along with several soldiers in Borno State, describing the events as heartbreaking and unacceptable.
Eko Hot Blog reports that in a personal statement shared on his social media platforms, the President said he is deeply troubled by the tragic loss of officers and men of the Nigerian Armed Forces who died while defending the nation.

He extended his condolences to the families of Brigadier General Uba and the other fallen soldiers, praying for strength and comfort in their time of grief.
Tinubu praised the sacrifice of the military personnel and reaffirmed his commitment to fully supporting the Armed Forces in their fight against terrorism and violent extremism.
The President also condemned the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State, calling it a cruel attack on children and their right to education. He described the terrorists as heartless individuals who have once again shattered the dreams of innocent students.
Tinubu said he has directed security agencies to act swiftly to secure the release of the abducted girls, stressing that their safe return is an urgent priority.

Addressing the wider surge in insecurity across parts of the country, the President said he has received detailed briefings on the recent rise in violent extremism. He has ordered the military, police and intelligence agencies to respond with urgency and decisive force.
Tinubu also urged communities to cooperate with security agencies, noting that sharing credible information can help prevent attacks and protect vulnerable citizens, especially children.
He vowed that those who threaten national security and endanger the lives of Nigerians will face the full weight of the Nigerian state. The President reiterated his commitment to restoring peace, strengthening security institutions and ensuring that every citizen can live in safety.
