He explained the background of the challenge and outlined strategic measures already in motion to ensure a lasting solution.
According to the lawmaker, three practical options are currently being pursued to secure stable power supply for Epe.
“One option is to connect Epe to the Ikorodu power source through the installation of a 133KVA step-down facility,” Hon. Tobun said.
He disclosed that a second option involves the Transmission Company of Nigeria, working through the Ministry of Energy, to deliver a dedicated power line from Ijebu-Ode to Epe.
“This power line project is already ongoing and is expected to be completed within 90 days,” he added.
Hon. Tobun further revealed that plans are also underway for an Independent Power Project specifically for Epe, noting that the initiative has reached the desk of the Lagos State Government.
“The Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has been fully briefed on the Independent Power Project, and it is receiving serious attention,” he stated.
He assured residents that efforts are focused on achieving permanent electricity restoration in Epe, expressing confidence that improvement will come sooner than anticipated.
Addressing concerns over faulty traffic lights in parts of the town, Hon. Tobun confirmed that he has engaged the relevant ministry and received positive assurances.
“The batteries of the affected traffic lights are currently being replaced,” he said, while clarifying that “no traffic light will be installed at Ita-Marun Junction.”
Instead, he explained that a junction improvement project has been approved to enhance traffic control and safety at the location.
The lawmaker also highlighted several developmental projects and interventions he has facilitated across Epe Constituency I since assuming office.
On questions regarding his continued political ambition, Hon. Tobun expressed confidence in his performance and the trust reposed in him by constituents.
