EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Senate President made the comment after he nearly referred to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP while attempting to acknowledge members of the National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) who were present at the event.
Realising the slip, Akpabio laughed it off before directing a remark at the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
“I didn’t know there was still PDP. Wike stop confusing us, if a party has died allow it to die,” Akpabio said.
His comments drew reactions from attendees at the event, where senior APC officials and government functionaries had gathered for the inauguration ceremony.

The remark comes amid continued political realignments and internal challenges within the PDP, as the opposition party prepares for future electoral contests.
