I Will Shoot Down Wike’s Helicopters if Provoked – Asari Dokubo
Former Niger Delta militant leader Asari Dokubo has publicly expressed his support for Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Dokubo alleged that soldiers dispatched by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, were flying helicopters over his residence. This statement comes on the same day that local government chairmanship elections were held in Rivers State.

Dokubo expressed his frustration, stating, “Wike’s soldiers and police have been flying over my house in two helicopters. I have the capacity to deal with them.
Nigeria cannot submit to Wike, and neither will the people of Rivers. I have the capability to handle this, and the government is aware of it. They should tell Wike to back off.”
At 60, Dokubo emphasized his fearlessness, saying, “I have never been afraid of death; I embrace it. I didn’t seek to shoot down their helicopter, but I will if necessary. I swear by Allah.”

He further warned, “Whoever is commanding them should be cautioned. Enough is enough. Tinubu should hand over. Wike is nothing without the powers of his office. Let them strip him of that, and we’ll see what happens.”
Dokubo concluded by affirming his commitment to voting, stating, “I will vote, and you will see me at the polls. Results will be announced, chairmen will be sworn in, and we’ll see what unfolds.”
