Eko Hot Blog reports that the exercise covers corporate organizations, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), as well as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with the aim of capturing accurate business data within the council’s official database.
According to the council, the initiative is designed to ensure proper identification of businesses, strengthen planning processes, and create a more structured support system for enterprises operating within the local government.
Officials noted that the exercise would also enhance internally generated revenue while positioning registered businesses to benefit from various intervention programmes and economic opportunities.
With accurate documentation, business owners and taxpayers are expected to gain improved access to government and NGO initiatives, including grants, loans, and empowerment programmes available at the federal, state, and local government levels.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman, the Supervisor for Budget, Hon. Waliu Balogun, called on all business owners and operators to cooperate with the enumeration team to ensure the success of the exercise.
He emphasized that the initiative would not only benefit the local government in terms of planning and development but would also open doors for businesses seeking support and growth opportunities.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to creating a more business-friendly environment while promoting sustainable economic development within Ibeju-Lekki.
