In a touching show of compassion and community support, the Grace Given Widows Charity Foundation, in partnership with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, has extended relief to more than 200 widows through the distribution of food items and cash assistance.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the outreach, themed “A Father to the Fatherless, a Defender of Widows, is God in His Holy Dwelling,” was designed to ease the economic burden on widows and foster financial independence amid prevailing economic challenges.
Addressing beneficiaries at the Secretariat, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, emphasized that the initiative, though modest, carries deep meaning.
“Today’s gesture of support may be small in measure, but it carries a profound message—it tells our widows that they are seen, valued, and never alone,” he said.

Hon. Olowa also applauded the foundation and its founder, Mrs. Victoria Adenaike, for their vision and dedication.
“The foundation does more than provide material aid; it creates a sanctuary where widows can find solace, encouragement, and the tools to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope,” he noted.
In her remarks, Mrs. Victoria Adenaike, Executive Director of Grace Given Widows Charity Foundation, expressed appreciation for the collaboration with the council.
“Widows are the unsung pillars of our society, often bearing the brunt of loss and economic challenges. This partnership with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government is a testament to what we can achieve when compassion meets action,” she said.
Beneficiaries went home with food packs and financial support intended not only to meet immediate household needs but also to assist with small business start-ups.
Hon. Olowa further revealed that the council would soon launch a renewed hope conditional cash transfer program designed to provide continuous financial support for beneficiaries over a six-month period.
