Inspector General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu has visited Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State following the recent attack and abduction incident that occurred in a community within the Ogbomoso axis on Friday.
Eko Hot Blog reports that during the visit, the Inspector-General expressed sympathy to families who lost loved ones in the attack and described the incident as disturbing and unacceptable.

The police chief was accompanied by the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State, Ojo Adekimi, due to the proximity of the affected area to border communities linked to Kwara State.

Also part of the delegation was the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Schools Protection Squad, Abayomi Shogunle, as authorities intensified efforts to strengthen security around schools and improve coordinated response operations.
According to a statement issued by Force Public Relations Officer Anthony Okon Placid, the IGP held security meetings with the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, and other security stakeholders during the visit.
The police leadership received updates on ongoing rescue operations, tactical deployments and intelligence activities aimed at locating abducted victims and tracking down the attackers.
Disu assured residents, parents and community leaders that the Nigeria Police Force, alongside other security agencies, had intensified search-and-rescue operations across the affected communities and surrounding forests.

He further directed the deployment of additional tactical and intelligence personnel to reinforce security operations in the area.
The IGP stressed that security agencies remain committed to restoring peace, rescuing abducted victims and bringing those responsible for the attack to justice.
The Nigeria Police Force also reiterated its resolve to strengthen protection for schools, communities and citizens across the country amid growing security concerns.
