Iranian authorities said a large farewell ceremony will take place in Tehran prior to the burial, though the exact date has not been announced. The Revolutionary Guards shared the announcement via their Telegram channel.

After Khamenei’s death, leadership of the country has temporarily shifted to a three-member council, which includes the president, the head of the judiciary, and a Guardian Council jurist.
The council will oversee governance until the Assembly of Experts appoints a permanent successor.

A source told Fars that, for security reasons, the Assembly of Experts may delay its final meeting until after Khamenei’s burial.
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported that US-Israeli strikes targeted the Assembly’s building in Qom, south of Tehran, following an earlier attack on its main headquarters in the capital.
