Supervising Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Abdulhafiz Toriola, alongside Permanent Secretary, Lands Bureau, Kamal Olowoshago, said the government is determined to execute the projects with fairness and transparency.
According to them, all affected structures will be properly enumerated before construction begins to prevent disputes over compensation. Olowoshago, who was represented by a Director in the Lands Bureau, Olawale Ojikutu, disclosed that certified property valuers would assess the affected buildings.
He added that compensation would be paid even to property owners without approved planning documents.

Toriola explained that the stakeholders’ engagement was aimed at informing residents about the Right-of-Way, explaining the potential impact of the projects, and collecting feedback to ensure a smooth implementation process.
He revealed that the projects are expected to last 18 months and appealed to residents to cooperate with government officials throughout the period. He also encouraged those with concerns to channel them through the Ministries of Energy and Mineral Resources, as well as Lands and Physical Planning.
The meeting also reviewed progress made since the first stakeholders’ forum and addressed technical, environmental and planning issues, reinforcing collaboration for the successful delivery of the projects.
