Joining Hands For A Cleaner Lagos: Environment Commissioner Advocates Collective Action
Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos State Commissioner for Environment Mr. Tokunbo Wahab has called for collective public responsibility to improve environmental quality in the state.

In a social media post, Mr. Wahab stated: “The only way forward, if we are going to improve the quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved; advocating for a cleaner, safer and healthier environment. Making it our collective responsibility.”
The commissioner’s message comes as Lagos battles issues like flooding, waste management, and pollution. Environmental experts say participation at individual and community levels is key to tackling these challenges.
Mr. Wahab’s post signals the Lagos State government wishes to galvanize grassroots support for environmental sustainability.
He suggests progress requires public education and engagement to change behaviors and perceptions.
His call for collective advocacy and responsibility aligns with global trends emphasizing collaborative community action for positive environmental impact.
According to experts, the government cannot achieve cleaner cities working in isolation citizens must take ownership at local levels.
