The Director, CMC, Mrs. Biola Oseni, addressed participants at the program held recently at the Folarin Coker Staff Clinic, Alausa, Ikeja, and said the training was organized to promote awareness of ADR as well as the basic principles of mediation needed to practice as a professional mediator.
She urged the participants to take advantage of the program’s opportunity to improve their mediation skills.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Abiodun Alaba, was also present at the ceremony, and was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Bassey Ewan, who appreciated CMC’s significant commitment to the peaceful resolution of conflicts.
He stated that mediation has proven to be the most effective alternative conflict resolution technique for resolving differences among residents amicably.
As a result, Alaba urged participants to pay attention and learn all of the necessary strategies and abilities to serve as professional mediators.
The Chairman of the PCRC, Apostle Kehinde Showemimo, acknowledged the impact of CMC in conflict resolution, saying the Centre has been assisting in decongesting the court of issues that may be addressed amicably through Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
