The Kano State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has signaled early preparations for the 2027 general elections by unanimously adopting President Bola Tinubu as its sole presidential candidate.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the decision was reached during a high-level meeting at the Coronation Hall in Government House, Kano, where party leaders reaffirmed their confidence in the President’s ongoing reforms and leadership.

Rabiu Sulaiman Bichi moved the motion for the President’s adoption, which received total support from the assembled stakeholders.
While the chapter initially considered purchasing the nomination forms in full, State Chairman Umar Doguwa confirmed they resolved to contribute ₦50 million toward the cost as a demonstration of their resolve and party unity.
According to a statement from the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad, the move is intended to ensure stability and a seamless electoral process for the party.
The meeting also served as a platform to endorse Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for the 2027 polls.

In his response, the Governor expressed gratitude for the show of confidence and reiterated his dedication to “people-oriented policies” and the continued development of the state.
He urged all party members to remain united to sustain the achievements of the current administration.
This early endorsement from the Kano chapter comes amid a shifting political landscape, providing a significant boost to the administration’s 2027 outlook in one of Nigeria’s most influential voting blocs.
