The Independent National Electoral Commission formally validated this growing political dominance over the weekend, declaring APC’s Rabiu Shuaibu the winner of the federal parliamentary seat in a landslide.
According to the official results certified by the Returning Officer, Professor Umar Sani of Bayero University, Kano, Shuaibu polled an overwhelming 35,356 votes.
The opposition forces suffered an absolute collapse at the ballots, with the Allied People’s Movement securing a negligible 268 votes and the Labour Party polling a mere 98 votes.
Governor Yusuf stated that the massive, enthusiastic voter turnout during the peaceful exercise serves as a definitive litmus test for the upcoming general elections.
He explained that the continuous string of by-election victories recorded by the party across the federation are not isolated events, but are clear, empirical instances confirming that the public completely trusts the APC’s developmental trajectory.

The governor stressed that this unified grassroots backing effectively positions the party to sweep both state and federal legislative seats when the general election cycle opens.
The state executive further noted that the undeniable dominance of the APC has completely exposed the structural weaknesses and lack of cohesion among rival political movements.
Yusuf point-blank mocked opposition parties for failing to present a formidable challenge, stating that their inability to mount an effective campaign is rooted in the fear of facing the APC’s well-established grassroots machinery.
Congratulating President Bola Tinubu and the APC National Chairman, Professor Nantawe Yilwatda, on the seamless victory, Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s absolute commitment to deploying more people-oriented projects to justify the immense confidence reposed in the party by the people of Kano.
