The Kayokayo Festival Committee has reaffirmed its commitment to educational development and youth empowerment with the presentation of ₦200,000 scholarships to six outstanding students drawn from the major wards in Epe Kingdom during the grand finale of the 175th Kayokayo Festival at the Epe Marina Waterfront.

Eko Hot Blog reports that the scholarship awards, valued at ₦200,000 for each beneficiary, formed part of activities marking this year’s festival and were introduced to provide financial support for deserving students while encouraging academic excellence across the kingdom.
The beneficiaries were selected from Oke Balogun, Oke Oba–Popo Oba, Oke Posun-Lagbade, Bado Oke, Bado Isale and Isale Agoro, ensuring that each of the major wards in Epe Kingdom was represented in the educational initiative.
Speaking during the presentation, the Coordinator of the Kayokayo Festival, Barrister Bayo Okulu, said the scholarship scheme reflects the committee’s determination to complement the festival’s cultural significance with meaningful investments in human capital.
“Kayokayo is more than a cultural festival. It is an opportunity to give back to our community. By awarding ₦200,000 scholarships to these students, we are investing in their future and encouraging them to remain focused on their education. We hope they will grow to become worthy ambassadors and leaders of Epe Kingdom,” he said.
Barrister Okulu noted that the committee remains committed to sustaining initiatives that positively impact the lives of young people, stressing that education remains a vital tool for community growth and national development.
Parents, traditional rulers, community leaders and residents applauded the initiative, describing it as a timely intervention that would ease the financial burden on the beneficiaries and motivate other students to pursue academic excellence.
The six beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Kayokayo Festival Committee for the generous support, promising to make good use of the opportunity and excel in their respective fields of study.
