Security forces in Kebbi State have recorded another milestone in the ongoing offensive against banditry, with the successful rescue of two kidnapped victims during a fierce confrontation with armed criminals in Ribah district.
Eko Hot Blog retrieved a statement released on Saturday, that the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed that the operation was carried out at approximately 3:05 p.m. on August 15, 2025, during a proactive patrol near Dankade village, located in the Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area.

The rescue team was made up of personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, community vigilantes, and local hunters. The operation, led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ribah, involved a prolonged exchange of gunfire with the kidnappers, which ultimately forced the bandits to abandon their captives.
The victims 26-year-old Tukur Bello from Kembawa village in Augie LGA, Kebbi State, and 25-year-old Isyaka Abubakar from Budun village in Gummi LGA, Zamfara State had been abducted on August 9 while grazing livestock in Gairi forest, Zamfara.

According to the statement, both men were rescued without injuries and taken to a medical facility for evaluation before being handed over to their families.
Commending the operatives, the Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State, CP Bello M. Sani, praised the courage, tactical discipline, and professionalism displayed by the Ribah unit. He urged officers across other divisions to take similar bold steps in tackling criminal activities.
The Commissioner also emphasized the importance of sustained visibility policing, routine patrols, and collaboration with local security networks to deter violent crimes across the state.
CP Sani reassured residents of Kebbi that the command remains fully committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all law-abiding citizens.
