The Lagos State Government, in collaboration with Culinara Group, has unveiled 50 contestants for Season 2 of Eko Flavours, Africa’s leading culinary showcase.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the unveiling, held at the Lagos Fresh Food Hub in Idi-Oro, Mushin, featured contestant orientation, a shopping experience, a brand exhibition, and a panel session with the Culinary and Creative Directors of Eko Flavours, government officials, brand partners, and an alumnus of the 2024 cohort.

Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Systems, Ms. Abisola Olusanya represented by the Hub’s Director, Mrs. Oluranti Sagoe-Oviebo reiterated Lagos’ vision to establish itself as Africa’s culinary capital.
“Eko Flavours is more than a competition; it is a platform for empowerment, cultural storytelling, and entrepreneurship. Through initiatives like this, we are equipping young talents to turn their passion for food into sustainable businesses that positively impact the economy,” she said.
Culinara Group Co-CEOs, Jennifer Odufuwa and Olufunke Adu, stressed that the project is designed to transform emerging chefs into entrepreneurs. Odufuwa said the season would “create pathways for young talents to transform their passion into sustainable businesses,” while Adu praised the Top 50 contestants as symbols of “creativity, resilience, and ambition.”

Culinary Director, Chef Adeyinka Arije, urged participants to represent Lagos cuisine with pride, while 2024 alumnus, Samuel Ejekukor, encouraged the new cohort to seize the experience as a “life-changing opportunity.”
Public voting for Season 2 opens this week and will run for 10 days, determining the Top 20 contestants who will advance to the semi-final and grand finale cook-offs scheduled for October.
