Lagos State First Lady Celebrates Successful Pilgrimage to Holy Land

Dr. (Mrs.) Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, wife of the Lagos State Governor, led a thanksgiving celebration in honor of the successful 2024 pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Israel and the Kingdom of Jordan, Eko Hot Blog reports.

Joined by members of the Committee of the Wives of Lagos State Officials (COWLSO), Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude for the completion of the spiritual journey and emphasized the importance of prayer and righteousness in achieving collective well-being

During the service, Mrs. Sanwo-Olu described the pilgrimage as a divinely orchestrated encounter that offered participants a journey of faith, renewal, and transformation.

She praised key officials, including the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Commissioner for Home Affairs, Olanrewaju Layode and the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Yetunde Gbafe, for their dedication to ensuring a smooth and successful pilgrimage exercise.

She said, ” Yourfforts in ensuring the spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being of the pilgrims have not gone unnoticed, and we pray for greater grace to continue this noble mission.”

She encouraged participants but to embrace a Christ-centered life, allowing the lessons learned during their spiritual journey to guide their daily actions. She highlighted the transformative nature of the pilgrimage, describing it as an experience that strengthens faith and fosters a deeper connection with God.

Sanwo-Olu’s call for a Christ-centered lifestyle aligns with the values and teachings emphasized during the pilgrimage, underscoring the importance of integrating spiritual growth into one’s everyday life.

In addition to personal transformation, she believes that such an approach has the potential to impact communities positively and foster a culture of compassion and righteousness.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Matters, Very Revd. Bukola Adeleke, commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his support in ensuring the success of the 2024 pilgrimage.

He also urged participants to serve as exemplary ambassadors for Lagos State and Nigeria while continuing to pray for the well-being of both the state and the nation.

Meanwhile, Board Secretary of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, shared her excitement over the smooth completion of the pilgrimage and emphasized the life-changing nature of the experience.
