EKO HOT BLOG reports that the moment occurred as Wike and other government officials received the president following his return from Lagos State.
In a video circulating online, President Tinubu was seen exchanging pleasantries with the former Rivers State governor before making the remark.
“Landlord, you are back?” Tinubu said while greeting Wike at the airport.
The exchange has since attracted reactions on social media, with many linking the comment to Wike’s influential political role within the Federal Capital Territory and Rivers State politics.
Wike had reportedly been in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, in recent days, where he was involved in political activities ahead of the All Progressives Congress APC primary elections in the state.
The former Rivers governor is believed to be supporting loyalists participating in the party’s primary contests ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Other top government officials were also present at the airport to welcome the president back to Abuja.
Tinubu recently concluded engagements in Lagos before returning to the nation’s capital on Sunday.
