Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has won the English Premier League Golden Boot for the 2025/26 season after finishing as the league’s highest goalscorer.
The Norwegian forward scored 27 goals in 35 league appearances to secure the award for the third time in four seasons with Manchester City.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Haaland finished five goals ahead of Brentford striker Igor Thiago, who ended the season with 22 goals following an impressive campaign that also earned him a place in Brazil’s World Cup squad.
With the latest achievement, Haaland joins Premier League legends Alan Shearer and Harry Kane as three time winners of the Golden Boot award in the Premier League era.
The 25 year old now trails only Mohamed Salah and Thierry Henry, who each won the award four times.
Haaland had previously claimed the Golden Boot in his first two seasons at Manchester City before reclaiming it again in the 2025/26 campaign.
Despite his outstanding goalscoring form, Manchester City failed to defend the Premier League title as Arsenal emerged champions for the first time in 22 years.
City ended the season with a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa on Sunday in what marked Pep Guardiola’s final game after a successful 10 year spell as manager.
Haaland was absent from the squad during the match as the club concluded the campaign without silverware.
The striker began the season in exceptional form, scoring 19 goals in his first 17 Premier League matches to keep City firmly in the title race.
However, a difficult run later in the campaign proved costly for the defending champions.
During a seven match stretch around the turn of the year, Haaland scored only once, a penalty against Brighton, while City managed just two victories during that period.
The poor run allowed Arsenal and other title challengers to gain momentum in the race for the championship.
Haaland later rediscovered his scoring form and delivered important goals during the closing stages of the season.
He scored the winning goal away at Liverpool and also found the net against Arsenal in a crucial title deciding encounter last month.
However, dropped points against Everton and Bournemouth eventually ended Manchester City’s hopes of retaining the title.
