The leadership of the Lagos State University Muslim Alumni Association (LASUMA) on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Area, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, at the Council Secretariat, Igando-Oloja, Lagos.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the interactive session strengthened the relationship between both institutions and opened fresh conversations around educational support, youth empowerment, and community development.

The LASUMA delegation, led by its National President, Professor Abdulazeez Lawal Anjorin, said the visit was aimed at formally introducing the newly constituted executive committee to the Council Chairman while seeking strategic partnership and institutional backing ahead of the Association’s 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Reunion.
Speaking during the visit, Professor Anjorin praised Hon. Olowa for his visionary leadership style and the notable infrastructure and human capital development recorded in Ibeju-Lekki since his administration began.
He stated that LASUMA, as a body committed to uplifting Muslim students and contributing to the academic excellence of Lagos State University (LASU), was confident that partnering with leaders like the Chairman would further strengthen their impact.
“Your efforts in governance and the development of Ibeju-Lekki are visible.
We believe your support will greatly enhance our mission of empowering Muslim youths and promoting higher education,” Professor Anjorin said.
Responding, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa expressed delight over the courtesy visit and commended LASUMA for its consistency in providing mentorship, scholarships, and development support to students of LASU.
“LASUMA has remained a strong pillar in promoting academic excellence and helping indigent students find their footing. As a government, we are always open to partnerships that bring value to our youths and foster community development,” Hon. Olowa noted.
He further assured the delegation that the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government administration would look into areas of mutual collaboration, especially in educational initiatives, youth-focused programmes, and community empowerment drives.

Both parties agreed that sustained partnership would create more meaningful opportunities for youths and contribute to long-term educational advancement.
