EKO HOT BLOG reports that Rosenior replaces Antoine Kombouare following Paris FC’s 11th place finish in Ligue 1 last season. The club, owned by the Arnault family with Red Bull holding a minority stake, is seeking to establish itself among the top teams in the French top flight.
In a statement announcing the appointment, Paris FC said Rosenior was chosen because of his extensive coaching experience, his ability to develop young players and his commitment to an attractive, attacking style of football.
Rosenior spent less than four months in charge of Chelsea after succeeding Enzo Maresca in January. Maresca departed Stamford Bridge following a disagreement with senior club officials before taking over at Manchester City.
The Englishman’s tenure at Chelsea started positively but ended on a disappointing note, with the Blues losing their final five Premier League matches without scoring a goal. The poor run of results led to his dismissal in April.
Despite his brief spell at Chelsea, Rosenior remains highly regarded for his achievements at Strasbourg, where he guided the club to a seventh place finish in the 2024–25 Ligue 1 season. The campaign secured UEFA Conference League qualification with the youngest squad among Europe’s top five leagues.
Rosenior began his coaching career with Brighton’s Under-23 team before joining Derby County as assistant manager to Wayne Rooney. He later served as Derby’s interim manager before taking charge of Hull City in 2022, leading the club from 15th to seventh place in the Championship over two seasons before leaving after narrowly missing the promotion play-offs.

Chelsea have since appointed former Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso as Rosenior’s successor. The former Spain international became the sixth permanent manager at Stamford Bridge since BlueCo completed its takeover of the club.
