Three people, including a pregnant woman and a nursing mother, have been killed after lightning struck a room in Gambiri village, Bauchi Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, said, “Yes, it is true that a thunderstorm has killed three people in Gambiri village.”
A resident, who identified himself as Abubakar Hussain, said the victims were inside a room when it was struck by lightning.
He identified the victims as Hauwa Juli, who reportedly gave birth seven days before the incident, and her daughter, Fatima.
The third victim was identified as Habiba, a pregnant woman and sibling of Hauwa Juli.
Hussain said the newborn baby survived the lightning strike.
According to him, the bodies of the victims were buried at about 11am on Tuesday.

The incident reportedly threw the community into mourning, with residents expressing shock over the deaths.
The tragedy also disrupted normal social and economic activities in the community as residents gathered to mourn the victims.
