EKO HOT BLOG reports that Maj.-Gen. Omotomilola Akintade, speaking on behalf of his retiring colleagues, reflected on the path that led them to this moment, recounting their entry into the NAOC 34 years prior as enthusiastic young officers. Akintade expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honor of a valedictory parade, calling it a dignified end to their service to the nation.

“It’s been a journey of endurance, resilience, and the grace of God,” he noted, highlighting the strong bonds formed within the Ordnance Corps, which he described as “One Big Family.”

Acknowledging the challenges facing Nigeria and the increasing internal security roles for the Armed Forces, Akintade encouraged the serving personnel to maintain dedication, professionalism, and loyalty.

He reminded them of their Oath of Allegiance to protect Nigeria’s territorial integrity and avoid partisan politics, underscoring the importance of upholding the army’s reputation.

Akintade extended his appreciation to the Nigerian Army, especially the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen.

Taoreed Lagbaja, for their support and leadership. He also thanked the Corps Commander, Maj.-Gen. Jonathan Ugwuoke, for organizing the event.
