Manchester United have finalised the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos from Chelsea in a transfer package that could rise to £50 million.

Reports indicate that the deal includes an initial £48 million payment, a further £2 million in potential bonuses and a 10 per cent sell-on clause for Chelsea.

Santos joined Chelsea from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama in January 2023 but struggled to secure a regular place in the first team, spending significant periods away on loan.
His progress was particularly noticeable during an 18-month spell at French side RC Strasbourg, where he played a key role in helping the club qualify for the UEFA Conference League and earned the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Month award in March 2024.
The midfielder later returned to Chelsea and was part of the squad that won the FIFA Club World Cup in 2025. He departs Stamford Bridge after making 47 appearances for the club.
Chelsea confirmed the transfer in a statement, praising Santos’ development during his time in London and wishing him success in the next phase of his career.

United are believed to have identified the Brazil international as an important addition to their midfield options, with the player expected to compete for a regular starting role under the club’s new plans.
The transfer comes as Manchester United continue to reshape their squad, with reports suggesting they are also exploring further midfield reinforcements after another proposed deal fell through.
