According to Goni, the latest surrender was a direct result of sustained air and ground offensives, supported by intelligence-led operations, which forced the terrorists to abandon their camps.
He said several senior ISWAP commanders were among those who laid down their arms and are currently being held at a secure location for profiling, debriefing and other procedures in line with established military protocols.
“Several senior ISWAP figures are among those who surrendered and are currently in a secure location undergoing profiling, debriefing and other procedures in line with established operational protocols,” the statement read.

The military said the development highlights the effectiveness of its ongoing operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks, disrupting their command structures and cutting off their logistics and freedom of movement.
It added that the surrender of the commanders, alongside other fighters who turned themselves in with members of their families, demonstrates the continued weakening of ISWAP’s operational capacity and fighting morale.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining operations across the North-East until terrorist activities are completely eliminated.
