Amid the controversies surrounding his passing, Mohbad’s body was exhumed on 21 September for an autopsy. Although the autopsy results have yet to be released, his father insists that the late singer’s remains will only be reburied once the autopsy findings are available and a DNA test confirms the paternity of his grandson, Liam.

In an interview with TVC on Friday, February 21, 2025, Omowunmi recounted meeting Mohbad when they were teenagers on the social media app, 2Go. The mother of one explained that their relationship began as a friendship before evolving into a romance.
“I met him when I was 13 on 2Go.

That was 12 years ago. I used to be a rapper and he sang, too—so we started as friends. We were very young then; he was 15. He proposed to me and I accepted. We later got married and had a child together,” she stated.

In a separate development, rising singer Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Prime Boy, has initiated legal action against Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo, for alleged defamation.
