The widow of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, Omowunmi Aloba, has shared that she first met her husband 12 years ago.
EKO HOT BLOG recalls that Mohbad passed away on 12 September 2023 and was buried in Ikorodu, Lagos State by his father, Joseph Aloba, less than 24 hours after his untimely death.

Amid the controversies surrounding his passing, Mohbad’s body was exhumed on 21 September for an autopsy. Although the autopsy results have yet to be released, his father insists that the late singer’s remains will only be reburied once the autopsy findings are available and a DNA test confirms the paternity of his grandson, Liam.
In an interview with TVC on Friday, February 21, 2025, Omowunmi recounted meeting Mohbad when they were teenagers on the social media app, 2Go. The mother of one explained that their relationship began as a friendship before evolving into a romance.
“I met him when I was 13 on 2Go.
That was 12 years ago. I used to be a rapper and he sang, too—so we started as friends. We were very young then; he was 15. He proposed to me and I accepted. We later got married and had a child together,” she stated.
In a separate development, rising singer Owodunni Ibrahim, popularly known as Prime Boy, has initiated legal action against Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo, for alleged defamation.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Prime Boy shared a legal document—filed at the High Court of Lagos State, Ikeja—via his Instagram page on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.
He is suing Abosede for making libelous and malicious remarks in a video interview dated 28 March 2024. The document, dated 12 February 2025, alleges that Abosede’s comments, which were disseminated through various news media, were designed to defame him. Prime Boy is seeking ₦50 million in damages for what he describes as injurious, false, and malicious statements.
