MAB Studio has been inaugurated in Oregun, Ikeja, adding a new hub to Lagos State’s growing creative ecosystem and strengthening the development of media, arts and culture in the state, Eko Hot Blog reports.
Speaking at the grand opening on Thursday, December 18, 2025, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, described the studio as a timely and strategic contribution to the creative industry. She was represented at the event by Mrs. Olajumoke James, Deputy Director in the Ministry.

The Commissioner congratulated the founder of MAB Studio and media professional, Mrs. Morayo Afolabi-Brown, commending her vision, resilience and long-standing impact on Nigeria’s media space.
She noted that the launch of the studio reflects how experience, passion and innovation can combine to build platforms that promote professionalism and global relevance.
She described Lagos as Africa’s leading creative capital, driven by individuals and enterprises that continue to shape media, arts and cultural expression across the continent.
According to her, MAB Studio is positioned to serve as a centre for storytelling, content creation and creative excellence at a time when the industry is increasingly contributing to economic growth, youth empowerment and global engagement.
Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Government, under Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, to supporting the tourism, arts and culture sectors through policies, partnerships and sustained investment that enable creatives to thrive.
She also applauded Mrs. Afolabi-Brown for establishing a platform focused on nurturing talent, promoting high professional standards and projecting authentic African narratives to a global audience, noting that the initiative aligns with the state’s vision of positioning Lagos as a global destination for creative excellence.
The Commissioner encouraged the management of MAB Studio to uphold strong ethical and creative standards while creating deliberate opportunities for young and emerging talents to learn, collaborate and grow within the industry.

She assured stakeholders of the Ministry’s readiness to collaborate with private sector players whose investments continue to strengthen Lagos’ creative economy and showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage to the world.
