The new Vice Chancellor of the institution, Florence Obi, allegedly ordered all final year students of some departments to return to 200 hundred level.

According to reports, the decision taken was to ensure an appropriate accreditation of the courses. The departments allegedly affected are Fine and Applied Arts, Mass Communication, and Music.
