EKO HOT BLOG reports that the governor disclosed his decision in a resignation letter dated December 29, 2025, addressed to the Ward Chairman of Ampang West Ward in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State.
In the letter, Mutfwang said his resignation was driven by the need for focused leadership, clarity of direction and improved service delivery. He stated that the decision takes immediate effect.
The letter, which was acknowledged by the ward leadership a day later, expressed appreciation to the PDP for giving him the opportunity to serve within Nigeria’s democratic system.
Mutfwang thanked party leaders and supporters for their support over the years, noting that prevailing political circumstances made his decision necessary.
“Given the realities of the moment and guided by my commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction and service delivery, I am compelled to seek an alternative platform,” the governor stated.
Following his resignation from the PDP, Mutfwang is set to officially join the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The development comes after the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, recently announced that the Plateau governor had joined the ruling party.
