The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has disowned several purported results from its recently conducted nationwide primaries that have been circulating on social media, stating that only the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) has the authority to release official outcomes.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the party urged members and the public to ignore any unofficial results currently being shared online, stressing that the authentic records of the primaries held on May 28 and 29 remain with the NEC.

In a statement issued in Abuja, NDC National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, disclosed that the party had scheduled a National Executive Council meeting to review the primaries and address issues arising from the exercise.
He explained that the NEC would meet in Abuja next week and advised stakeholders not to rely on unverified reports regarding the outcome of the contests.

According to him, the council remains the only body empowered to announce and ratify the results of the party’s primary elections.
Director further revealed that the meeting was convened on the instruction of the party’s National Leader, Seriake Dickson. He said NEC members are expected in Abuja for a preliminary session on June 2, ahead of the main meeting scheduled for June 3.
The party assured aspirants, members and supporters that the final list of candidates who emerged from the primaries would be made public after the necessary approvals and before submission to the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The clarification comes amid growing public interest and speculation over the outcome of the NDC primaries conducted across the country in preparation for the 2027 general election.
Party officials expressed confidence that the forthcoming NEC meeting would help ratify the results, address any concerns raised during the process and pave the way for the submission of its candidates to INEC.
