The NIS stated that Nigerians applying for passports, whether within the country or abroad, should use only its official passport portal for payments and applications.

It also directed foreign nationals seeking Nigerian visas to use the approved visa portal for embassy applications or the designated e-visa platform for electronic visa processing.
The Service said, “At no time has the Service partnered with or authorised any religious organisation, private entity or individual to act as intermediary or receiving account on its behalf.”
The immigration authority urged applicants who need guidance on passport or visa procedures to rely on its verified communication channels for assistance.

It identified its official X handles as @nigimmigration and @InquireAtNaija, while its verified Facebook and Instagram accounts remain @nigimmigration.
The NIS also provided WhatsApp contact lines, 09160878000 and 09117717772, for enquiries and support.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a secure and transparent application system, cautioning the public against fraudulent agents and unofficial payment channels.
