‘Intimidation’ – NLC Slams Police Over Second Invitation To Ajaero, Ugboaja

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has voiced strong disapproval of the police’s second invitation to its president, Joe Ajaero, and General Secretary Comrade Emmanuel Ugboaja.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the NLC has condemned the move as an attempt at intimidation and a clear case of witch-hunting.

This latest invitation follows a similar one that Ajaero responded to last Thursday, which has sparked concerns within Pascal Bafyau’s Labour House about the increasing frequency of such summonses.

According to a letter from CP Rufus Alajide, representing the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Force Intelligence Department, the new invitation is part of an ongoing investigation into alleged criminal intimidation, malicious damage to property, and actions likely to disrupt public peace.

In a statement issued on Sunday, NLC’s head of information and public affairs, Comrade Benson Upah, reiterated the union’s commitment to lawfulness.
