As the Tinubu administration enters its second year, Masari the president controversial decision to remove fuel subsidies. He cited this and other critical reforms as evidence of President Tinubu’s commitment to Nigeria’s sustainable growth.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by Nigerians due to the subsidy removal, Masari maintained that the move was necessary for the country’s economic recovery and long-term progress.
“Past presidents wanted to do it but couldn’t. He did it because of how much of the country’s money was being wasted,” he said.
Masari argued that the subsidy regime had negatively impacted Nigeria’s economy for years, diverting vital resources from critical infrastructure and public services.
Praising Tinubu’s decisive action, Masari noted that the president accomplished what previous leaders had failed to do, reflecting his commitment to addressing challenging issues head-on.
Furthermore, Masari revealed that the funds saved from subsidy removal are now being invested in key development projects and public service improvements at both federal and state levels.
“The money is now being used to fund projects that benefit Nigerians in the long term,” Masari added. “This is a necessary sacrifice for a stronger and more stable Nigeria.”
Despite ongoing complaints about inflation, fuel costs, and economic hardship in Nigeria, Masari insists that these challenges are temporary and necessary for achieving sustainable economic growth.
Masari acknowledged public concerns while urging Nigerians to remain patient and resilient in the face of adversity.
As the Tinubu administration approaches its two-year mark, debates persist over the effectiveness of its economic policies. Supporters emphasize President Tinubu’s decisive leadership and long-term vision, while critics point to worsening economic conditions and rising living costs as evidence of policy shortcomings.
Masari’s call for patience underscores the administration’s belief that the benefits of its reforms will ultimately outweigh short-term challenges.
