Eko Hot Blog reports that the incident has reignited intense conversations across the digital ecosystem regarding authenticity, copyright ownership, and the increasingly deceptive use of AI tools in mainstream celebrity content generation.
The public drama unfolded on Thursday when Caramel Plug shared side-by-side images on her official Instagram handle to express her shock.
The original image featured Caramel Plug impeccably dressed in a brown blazer, matching waistcoat, tie, and striking yellow heels.
However, the copy posted by Anita Joseph showed the exact same outfit, stance, and background, but with Caramel Plug’s head completely removed and Joseph’s face digitally superimposed in its place.
Visibly outraged by the flagrant alteration, Caramel Plug publicly called out the actress, stating that they do not know or follow each other, and questioned why Joseph would systematically swap their faces before sharing the picture with her massive audience.
As the post gathered intense momentum and thousands of social media users began dragging the actress for highly unethical behavior, Anita Joseph quickly pulled down the controversial graphic and offered a defensive apology.
She vehemently denied direct involvement in the photo manipulation, pointing fingers at her content creator whom she referred to as her “AI boy,” claiming the assistant had nearly implicated her reputation. Joseph further asserted that her sole intent behind sharing the image was to help promote the fashion outfit showcased in the post.
However, the explanation did very little to calm the waters. Caramel Plug swiftly dismissed the actress’s excuse with open sarcasm, advising Joseph to ensure her “imaginary AI boy” performs better in the future while firmly rejecting the familiar label of “babe.”

The exchange turned even more bitter when Anita Joseph retaliated by undermining the influencer’s status, boastfully claiming that nobody even knew Caramel Plug had taken such a picture until she used her star power to make the content trend across the internet.
The online confrontation took a much more hostile turn when controversial Nollywood actress Angela Okorie intervened in the matter. Okorie openly condemned Anita Joseph’s actions, labeling the entire incident as typical “yeyebrity behaviour”, a local slang mocking cheap celebrity antics.
Okorie insisted that decapitating someone else’s image to substitute it with one’s own face is fundamentally wrong and beneath the standard of any self-respecting public figure.
Refusing to take the criticism quietly, Anita Joseph immediately shifted her anger toward Okorie, issuing public threats of legal action and law enforcement intervention.
Joseph fired back aggressively, declaring that Okorie had stepped out of her cage again and warning that she would ensure her arrest and prolonged detention.
Despite the escalating threats flying between the Nollywood stars, Caramel Plug remained unfazed, maintaining her firm stance against the unauthorized manipulation of her intellectual property and warning the entire industry against utilizing her creative content without explicit permission.
