Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested a 45-year-old man suspected of being an accomplice in a motorcycle theft syndicate operating in the state.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the suspect, identified as Mustafa Sani, was arrested at his residence in Gaida, Abacha Street, Kumbotso Local Government Area, following intelligence linking him to the syndicate.

The NSCDC said the operation followed the tracking of a motorcycle with registration number GRR 958 QB from Jigawa to Sani’s residence.
According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, operatives searched the residence and recovered a motorcycle suspected to have been stolen from a hospital premises at Rijiyar Zaki along Gwarzo Road in Kano.
Other items recovered included 11 registered motorcycle number plates, six screwdrivers, three pliers and three bunches of motorcycle keys suspected to be connected to stolen motorcycles.
The Command identified another suspect, Mansur Nasir Khalil, popularly known as “S-Guy”, as the alleged principal suspect in the syndicate and said he was currently at large.
The NSCDC said a manhunt had been launched for Khalil, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend him and bring him to justice.
The Kano State Commandant, Mohammed Agalama, commended the operatives for what he described as a vigilant and intelligence-led operation.
Agalama assured residents that the Command would intensify efforts to dismantle criminal networks involved in motorcycle theft and other forms of criminality across the state.
He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with relevant information that could assist in preventing and detecting criminal activities.
The Commandant said Sani would undergo thorough investigation and, upon completion of the process, be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
