EKO HOT BLOG reports that addressing the 2025 Batch A, Stream 2 Corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Yikpata, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State on Wednesday, Nafiu advised them to avoid using social media for frivolities and instead channel its potential for positive engagement.
“While we understand the value of social media in today’s world, it is important to avoid using it irresponsibly,” he said. “Some issues are better resolved with those around you than taken online, where the consequences can be damaging now and even in the future.”
He reminded the Corps members that their conduct online can have long-term implications and encouraged them to use their service year as a foundation for responsible leadership and nation-building.
Brigadier-General Nafiu also congratulated the Corps members on the successful completion of their academic journeys, which qualified them for national service, urging them to seize the NYSC programme as an opportunity to prepare for future leadership roles.
He charged them to remain loyal, dedicated, and patriotic, stressing that their commitment to service will contribute significantly to national development.
In his welcome remarks, the NYSC Kwara State Coordinator, Mr. Onifade Olaoluwa, described the DG’s visit as highly motivating. He noted that it would significantly boost the morale of the Corps members, who are already eager to contribute to their country.

Olaoluwa revealed that a total of 2,290 Corps members are currently participating in the orientation exercise in the state.
