Oba Elejinrin Honours 30 Chiefs in His 20 Years on the Throne and 80th Birthday

  • The ceremony celebrated contributions to Ejinrin Kingdom’s growth.

The Elejinrin of Ejinrin Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rafiu Ishola Balogun, celebrated his 20th coronation anniversary and 80th birthday in grand style recently.

Ekohotblog reports that 30 individuals were honoured with chieftaincy titles in commemoration with the coronation and birthday anniversary.

The event, held at the Ejinrin Royal Palace, was massively attended by traditional rulers, government officials, and members of the community.

The honourees received titles for their contributions to the development and growth of Ejinrin Kingdom.

Some of the titles included:

  • Chief Princess Asabi Linda Akharum – Yeye Fehintade of Ejinrin Kingdom.
  • Chief Otunba Adekunle Alimi Ishola – Fiwagbóyè of Ejinrin Kingdom.
  • Chief Afiz Akande – Otunba Bobaseyẹ of Ejinrin Kingdom.
  • Chief (Mrs.) Adetutu Akande – Yeye Bobaseyẹ of Ejinrin Kingdom.
  • Chief Segun Obayendo – Akinrogun of Ejinrin Kingdom.
  • Chief Princess Mrs. Franca Funke Peters – Yeye Meso of Ejinrin Kingdom.
  • Chief Otunba Taye Alaka – Otunba Akogun of Ejinrin Kingdom.
  • Chief Fatai Adesanya – Osi-Seriki of Ejinrin Kingdom.
  • Chief Hon. Rashidat Adesiji – Yeye Fesogbóyè of Ejinrin Kingdom.
  • Chief Bank Timothy Adesanmi Ruffai – Apesin of Ejinrin Kingdom, and his wife,
  • Chief (Mrs.) Adeola Ruffai – Yeye Apesin of Ejinrin Kingdom.

Speaking at the ceremony, Oba Rafiu Ishola Balogun expressed gratitude to the people of Ejinrin for their support over the years. He said:

“I am humbled by the love and loyalty shown to me by the people of Ejinrin Kingdom.

As we mark 20 years on this throne and my 80th birthday, it is my honour to reward those who have contributed to the growth of this kingdom with these chieftaincy titles.

I urge the new chiefs to serve with commitment and integrity.”

One of the honourees, Chief Princess Asabi Linda Akharum, who was installed as Yeye Fehintade of Ejinrin Kingdom, expressed her joy:

“It is a great privilege to receive this honour from our royal father. I promise to uphold the values of our community and contribute to its development.”

Chief Otunba Adekunle Alimi Ishola, honoured as Fiwagbóyè of Ejinrin Kingdom, also shared his excitement:

“This title is a call to serve my people. I am deeply grateful to Kabiyesi for this recognition, and I will do my best to support the progress of Ejinrin Kingdom.”

The event also included chieftaincy honours for members of Ojota Community , such as Chief Lanihun Kazeem, who was named Baale of Ojota community, and Chief Wasiu
Mondiu Olumodan, who received the title Lisa of Ojota community.

In his closing remarks, Oba Balogun urged unity among the people:
“Our strength is in our unity. Let us continue to work together to ensure Ejinrin Kingdom remains a land of peace, progress, and prosperity.”
