Residents and traditional leaders of Odoragunshi in Epe Division have called on Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to install Prince Adetomiwa Odutuga as their rightful king without further delay.
Ekohotblog gathers that the community, which has been without a monarch for nearly a decade, insists that the prolonged leadership vacuum has stalled its progress and unity.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Chief Rasheedat Oladega, the Iyalode of Odoragunshi, expressed frustration over the delay, emphasizing that the people have unanimously chosen Prince Odutuga as their traditional ruler.
“For almost ten years, we have waited patiently, but enough is enough! We demand that Governor Sanwo-Olu listen to the will of the people and put an end to this impasse.
The Odoragunshi throne is not for sale, and we will not allow political interference to override our traditions,” she said.
Another community leader, Chief Mufutau Adebajo-Egbo, accused Mrs. Doja Otedola of interfering in the selection process, despite not being a kingmaker.
“She is a respected figure in our community, but she has no right to dictate who becomes our king. The people have spoken, and any attempt to impose another candidate will be rejected,” Adebajo-Egbo stated.
The Oloritun Eyindi of Odoragunshi, Chief Giwa Adekunle, also urged the state government to take swift action.
“Our community has been in limbo for too long. We need a leader who understands our struggles and aspirations. The people stand united behind Prince Adetomiwa Odutuga, and we will not accept anyone else,” he said.
