The club announced via their official Instagram page on Tuesday, “We are pleased to confirm we have activated a one-year extension in Ola Aina’s contract.”
The 27-year-old Nigeria international stood out as one of the top wingback in the recently concluded 2023-2024 Premier League season.
He started 20 of his 22 appearances, scoring one goal and providing an assist.
Aina played a crucial role in helping the club narrowly avoid relegation by finishing just above the drop zone.
Hence, his only goal of the season came in a 2-0 victory against Aston Villa at the City Ground on November 5, 2023.
Aina joined Nottingham Forest on July 22, 2023, on a one-year contract after being released from Torino.
During his time with the Serie A side from 2019 to 2023, he made 72 league appearances, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
The wingback, who had an impressive 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign with Nigeria.

Aina made his debut for Nottingham Forest on August 12, 2023, in a 2-1 Premier League loss to Arsenal.
He has also played for Chelsea and Hull City.
