Speaking after securing the forms, Omisore said his decision to run was motivated by a commitment to service and to repositioning Osun State.

“This is not about ambition; it is about responsibility — the responsibility to rebuild our state, restore confidence in leadership, and chart a new path for prosperity,” he said.
His official entry into the race marks the start of what is expected to be a competitive contest for the APC ticket.
Political activities are intensifying in Osun, with the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) also preparing for a tough re-election battle. Governor Ademola Adeleke, seeking a second term, has dismissed concerns about internal disagreements in his party, describing them as “a family affair.”
“We are moving towards victory next year, and we remain focused on rebuilding the party for a renewed landslide win,” his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said.
The APC had previously announced December 13, 2025, as the date for its governorship primary ahead of the August 8, 2026, election. The party fixed the cost of the Nomination and Expression of Interest forms at ₦50 million.

The National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, stated that only members whose names appear on the updated party register and who are up to date with dues as of February 2025 would be eligible to vote or contest.
He noted that the Sale of forms began on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, while completed forms and delegate lists are expected by December 1, 2025.
With Omisore emerging as the first aspirant to formally join the race, the battle for the Osun APC governorship ticket is already gaining momentum.
More contenders are expected to declare in the coming weeks as the primaries approach.
