- “Peggy should be in police custody as we speak now for a case of assault
- The actress, however, denied the claims
- Ontop made the demand following the release of CCTV footage
Popular Nollywood actor Stanley Ontop has called for the arrest of actress Peggy Ovire over the alleged assault of his colleague, Taye Arimoro.
Eko Hot Blog reports that Ontop made the demand following the release of CCTV footage that appears to show Ovire and her team attacking Arimoro on a movie set.

The incident first came to light when Arimoro shared a series of videos on his Instagram page on Wednesday, accusing Peggy of assaulting him during filming.

The actress, however, denied the claims and alleged that it was Arimoro who assaulted her driver.
The CCTV footage, which surfaced online on Thursday morning, appears to contradict Ovire’s denial and supports Arimoro’s account of the events.
Reacting to the video evidence, Ontop took to Instagram to demand immediate police action. Tagging the Nigeria Police Force, he wrote: “No actor should be bullied.”
He further explained, “Dear @nigeriapoliceforce, a Nollywood actor called @tayearimoro was assaulted by a producer, Peggy, and her driver.

The actor refused to shoot beyond 12 am because the contract he had with Peggy had already expired. Instead of Peggy appealing to him, she assaulted him and instructed her driver to do the same, resulting in serious injury.
“Peggy should be in police custody as we speak now for a case of assault. I am calling on the Lagos State Police Command to act quickly to arrest Peggy. CCTV has shown how Peggy and her crew surrounded Taye’s vehicle in an attempt to beat him.”
