Troops of Sector 2, Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued an abducted victim, apprehended criminal suspects, and recovered 126 rustled livestock during successful anti-terror operations across Katsina State.
Eko Hot Blog reports that according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force (North West), Lt. Col. Aliyu Danja, troops collaborated with the Katsina State Community Watch Corps following a distress call regarding terrorist activity at Karkata Village in Charanchi Local Government Area.

Responding security forces engaged the criminal gang with superior firepower, compelling the terrorists to abandon their captive and flee into nearby thickets. The rescued victim was unharmed and has since been reunited with her family.
In a separate joint enforcement action, military personnel partnered with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to execute targeted raids across Wagin, Tundu Mobi, and Chadawaki communities within Batsari Local Government Area.
The raid yielded the arrest of several suspects alongside the recovery of a locally fabricated firearm loaded with live ammunition, all of which have been handed over to the NDLEA for formal investigation.
Furthermore, acting on intelligence regarding criminal transit routes, troops set up an ambush near Yankwani Village in Bakori Local Government Area.
Intercepting a group of suspected terrorists moving stolen animals, the troops exerted sustained tactical pressure, forcing the bandits to escape into the terrain and abandon 83 cows and 43 sheep.
The 126 recovered livestock were subsequently handed over to the Chairman of the Bakori Peace Keeping Committee and local government officials to facilitate identification and return to their rightful owners.
Commending the forces, the Theatre Commander of Operation FANSAN YAMMA praised the vigilance and gallantry displayed during the operations, reassuring residents of Katsina State and the broader North-West region of the military’s ongoing commitment to dismantling terrorist networks.
