This clarification follows the appearance of a controversial billboard in Iwo, Osun State, which featured images of both President Tinubu and Governor Adeleke, sparking a heated exchange between the APC and the governor’s camp.
Mgbudem defended Governor Adeleke’s performance, asserting that his achievements have made him the “people’s choice” for a second term.
He noted that the Accord has become a “beautiful bride” in Nigerian politics since the governor and his associates joined the fold, attracting several lawmakers and eminent citizens.

The Chairman emphasized that the party is undeterred by any political “gang-up” and expressed confidence that Adeleke would win the 2026 election by a wide margin.
Addressing rumors of a leadership split, Mgbudem clarified that there is no faction within the Accord.
He specifically addressed the actions of Prof. Christopher Imumolen, the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, who was recently expelled.
Mgbudem described Imumolen’s recent protest at the INEC headquarters as the move of a “political neophyte” and stated categorically that there is no court order recognizing Imumolen as the party’s chairman.
