The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned supporters of the Accord Party against circulating what it described as unofficial and fabricated results from Saturday’s governorship election.

The APC accused some Accord members and supporters of attempting to announce election results from various wards before the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had officially released them.
According to the opposition party, only INEC has the legal authority to collate and declare the results of the governorship election.
It urged residents to disregard results being circulated through unofficial channels, warning that the spread of unverified figures could create tension and trigger an avoidable crisis in the state.
The APC also called on security agencies, particularly the police, to investigate those allegedly responsible for spreading what it described as false election results on social media.
The party alleged that the publication of the disputed results appeared to be a coordinated attempt to confuse the public and undermine the electoral process.
It further accused political actors linked to the Accord Party of deliberately disregarding INEC’s repeated warnings against unofficial declarations.
The APC also alleged that some politicians were using artificial intelligence tools to generate and circulate false election information, which it claimed could worsen political tensions in the state.
The party called on Governor Ademola Adeleke and other political actors to ensure that their supporters complied with electoral rules and avoided actions capable of triggering post-election violence.
Meanwhile, the APC urged its own members and supporters across Osun State to remain calm and continue with their normal activities while awaiting the official announcement of results by INEC.
The party said it remained committed to peace and appealed to its supporters not to be distracted or provoked by what it described as attempts to create confusion around the election outcome.
