Voters at polling units in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State have accused suspected supporters of the All Progressives Congress of distributing money to voters during Saturday’s governorship election.
Eko Hot Blog reports that the allegations emerged from Ward 4, Unit 7, where voters were seen confronting individuals they accused of engaging in cash distribution at the polling location.

According to the voters, the incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m., while a similar allegation was made at Ward 4, Unit 13, around 10:30 a.m.
A video from the scene showed some voters pursuing individuals alleged to have been involved in the distribution of cash.
One of the voters claimed that the individuals escaped from the area with some of the money packed in a polythene bag.
“We don’t know how much was there. They ran away and used a polythene bag to take the money away,” the voter said.
The voter also alleged that the action violated instructions issued to voters and political actors against distributing money at polling units.
“The rule given to us was that we should not give money to anyone. We did not cause any trouble; we were only running after them,” the voter added.
Some voters were also seen displaying cash they claimed to have recovered from those accused of distributing money, alongside a card they identified as belonging to the APC.
“This is the evidence. The card they used belongs to the APC, and their logo is on it,” another voter said.
The incident reportedly occurred at a polling unit linked to African Democratic Congress governorship candidate Najeem Salaam, popularly known as Iwaloye.
However, the voters alleged that those accused of distributing the money were associated with the APC.
One voter said the alleged incident happened at both Unit 7 and Unit 13.
“We are talking about Iwaloye, the ADC candidate. At his unit, APC members are sharing money. It happened at about 9:30 a.m. in Unit 7 and 10:30 a.m. in Unit 13,” the voter alleged.
The allegations had not been independently verified as of the time of filing this report.
There was also no immediate response from the APC regarding the allegations.
The development comes as voters across Osun State participate in the governorship election amid heightened political activity and close monitoring by electoral officials, security agencies, political parties and observers.
Cash inducement at polling units is prohibited under Nigeria’s electoral rules, and allegations of vote buying have remained a recurring concern during elections.
The incident is expected to attract further scrutiny as authorities continue to monitor the conduct of the Osun governorship election and assess reports of alleged electoral offences.
