According to security sources, troops embarked on a fighting patrol around 4:00 a.m. when they encountered armed elements, leading to a gun battle.
During the engagement, one suspected terrorist was neutralised, while troops recovered items including two locally made firearms, motorcycles, mobile phones, and quantities of suspected illicit drugs.

The offensive also led to the destruction of several camps believed to be used by criminal elements as operational bases.
Military sources indicated that follow-up clearance operations are ongoing to sustain pressure on armed groups in the area and prevent them from regrouping or re-establishing hideouts.
The operation forms part of intensified efforts by security forces to restore stability and curb insecurity across affected communities in the region.
