EKO HOT BLOG reports that those in attendance included Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, Zamfara’s Dauda Lawal, Taraba’s Agbu Kefas, Adamawa’s Ahmadu Fintiri, Oyo’s Seyi Makinde, Bayelsa’s Douye Diri, and Osun’s Ademola Adeleke.
According to the communiqué, the meeting deliberated on national issues, including insecurity, the erosion of democratic values, and the repositioning of the PDP ahead of its forthcoming national convention.
The governors expressed commitment to “rescuing Nigerians from the APC’s divisive governance style,” stressing that the ruling party’s policies have continued to inflict hardship on citizens.
They commended PDP supporters for their loyalty and resilience despite what they described as “serious intimidation and anti-democratic actions” by the APC-led federal government during recent by-elections.
The forum accused the APC of militarising the polls, alleging widespread irregularities, vote buying, and violence.
Reaffirming their support for the party’s national convention scheduled for November, the governors urged members to resist all attempts by “anti-party forces” to derail the process.
On the issue of defections, the communiqué stated that despite recent high-profile exits, the PDP still enjoys strong grassroots support.
“The forum commends the resilience of PDP leaders and members in overcoming orchestrated defections, stressing that such distractions cannot diminish the party’s strong grassroots appeal or the growing public yearning for the return of affordable living and relative security experienced under PDP-led administrations,” the communiqué read.

On insecurity, the governors condemned the “monstrous killings” in Katsina, Plateau, Niger, Benue and other states, urging the federal government to take more decisive measures to safeguard lives and property.
The forum described the APC as “a political party with no agenda and no vision, doomed to face inevitable rejection by the masses.”
